Sabria’s Restaurant in Wynberg

Relaxed dining experience, perfect for an impromptu dinner date with the hubby, a late night get-together with friends, or a birthday party buffet.

Sabria’s, the dine-in restaurant under the ‘Cosy Corner umbrella’, is a gastronomic gem in the Wynberg area: bringing high-end dining to a Halaal audience.

This was our first experience at Sabria’s, and we were pleasantly surprised. A big shoutout to server Shakeel, who ensured we were comfortable, happy, and well-fed! πŸ’― His recommendation of the lime milkshake is a must-try, in my opinion!

Me and the man

What we ordered

STARTERS

Nachos (R105) – “A pyramid of seasoned tortilla chips topped with a tangy Mexican salsa and grilled cheese, served with guacamole.”

Cheesy and incredibly savory! It was served with a gigantic dollop of guacamole! So, so delicious.

However, if you want to savor your mains, I would recommend one of their lighter starters, as this one (even shared between me and hubby) was slightly heavy. But I highly recommend it if you love the beautiful collaboration between cheese, sauce, and chips🍟 πŸ˜‹

MAINS

Rack of Beef Ribs 500g (R230)

This was hubby’s order, so I’ll let him tell you all about it. πŸ’œ

“The masala ribs… a mouthwatering spice explosion, with melt-off-the-bone meat. This isn’t any ordinary rib, my friend. This one is a rib from Jannah!”

Sabrias Speciality Buns (R240) – “SIZZLING CHEESY SPICY  with grilled cheese & mushroom sauce.” Double chicken fillet 360g.

Another hubby special incoming! πŸ”

One bite, and I knew I found my new favorite chicken burger. The cheese and nachos on the burger were the highlight, as it was the perfect ratio of crunch to oozey cheese. I’ve had Cosy Corner’s burgers, but this chicken SUPER cheese burger was on another level.

The SUPER cheese chicken burger

Norwegian Salmon (R295) – “Seared medium or well and served with a smoked paprika Hollandaise sauce on the side.”

As a bona fide fish-lover, I HAD to endulge in a seafood dish. The fish was cooked beautifully, elegantly flaky with succulent meat. However, the bland sauce and potato wedges drowned out the delicate fish, making the meal slightly underwhelming. I would not really recommend this dish unless you could enjoy the salmon on its own πŸ’š

If only we had smell-evision

DRINKS

Mojito, strawberry (R75)

Ecstatic… that’s how I felt after my first sip. The strawberry flavour was a delightful mix of sweet, fruity, and sour. It perfectly complimented the rich food! πŸ“

Milkshake, lime (R65)

The milkshake was a nice addition, although I should’ve opted for something like the mojito instead. Their milkshakes are filled with ice cream and could be better suited as a refreshing desert. 🍨

Beef ribs, double chicken burger, and pan-fried salmon

Another big perk for us was their Salaah RoomπŸ’›. There are clean toilets on the premises, as well as a small Wudu facility and enough space for both men and women to make salah. It also has some burqas and womens abayahs hanging on hooks inside the room.

A big shukran to the kitchen staff and server Shakeel for making our first Sabria’s experience a content and delicious one. We highly recommend you treat yourself or your family to a meal at Sabria’s Restaurant in Wynberg.
