This show is proof that sustainable living, healthy eating and eco-consciousness comes in all forms: from making pickles at home, to supporting local producers to enjoying healthier snack options. We can all, in some way, live better and healthier and The Good Life Show is THE hub to learn all about it.
What you can enjoy
Live masterclasses + cheffy things
Talented chefs take centre stage (literally) with interactive masterclasses and demo kitchens ๐งโ๐ณ. This weekend you can enjoy Lebanese Wraps with spiced lentils and tahini yoghurt by Amerae Vercuiel on Friday. Beetroot ravioli with smoked vegan ricotta by Jameson Stocks on Saturday. And for something lekker sweet, try the Sweet Potato Brownies by Ru Furusa on Sunday. Space is limited at the masterclasses, so make sure you book advance.

Local brands who love sustainability
If you love South African grown or produced foods, clothes and beauty items – this is the place to be! You can find some really yummy homemade pickles ๐ฅ and sauces, as well as homegrown teas, milk-alternatives and gluten-free baked goods ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ. And our beautiful country is home to soo many talented people who love the planet and our local industries.

And moooore good food!
Oh yes! Lot‘s of good food. Some nourish your body, others nourish your brain. Some are spicy, some are sweet. But it’s all in the name of healthy living and balance. Now while no food is bad food, at The Good Life Show you can find many niche food items like sugar- or gluten-free. If you’re in the market for all natural supplements and alternative medicines, you can find something to suit your needs this weekend. The expo also features a number of food trucks which comes with a very cosy sitting area. So check them out and eat your fill! I must say I have been pleasantly surprised by the number of food items that are Halaal certified ๐

Organisations and charities
This event more than food. You can meet some incredibly innovative and inventive people with new products and tech in the works. And if you are looking out for your heart health, organisations like The Heart and Stroke Foundation and Diabetes South Africa are here to take all your questions and hear your concerns. I had the privilege of chatting with Waste-Ed, a local initiative that teaches and encourages people to lessen their contribution to land fills by reusing old materials, recycling food scraps and creating eco-bricks: compacted bricks made from old plastics, that are used to craft things like benches or help build schools.

Ethical and sustainable beauty items
As I mentioned before, there are numerous beauty brands at the Good Life Show. Some are local, while others are international, but the one thing they have in common is harnessing the power of nature. From facial oils and toners, to body butters and shampoos, try out some of the samples and treat yourself to some really lekker beauty products this weekend.

Aaandd, that’s all for now! If you’re attending or have already, let know what you enjoyed about the show.
