I’m so sorry for not posting on here in a whiillee, everyone. I hope your week has been a beautiful and productive one so far✌️. I thought I’d check in with all of you and share some of my thoughts and big feats since last we spoke ☺️💖🧕.
So, what’s up with Zahraa?
I was so sick recently. In Cape Town, we are in the midst of cold and flu season, and I came down with a pretty bad chest infection.
I had to take a few days off work and rest – and put my blog off to the side too.
I will work and keep going until eventually my body just gives out, to the point where I am forced to rest… Not much of a work-life balance😪😅… Let me know if you are the same.
Comic Con Cape Town 2025
The anime and geek fest of the year took place a couple of weeks back. I had the privilege of covering the event and meeting some incredible people too. Namely, the artists from the City of Cape Town’s Emerging Artists Programme.

I am working on having a special post dedicated to these talented individuals and the breathtaking works they had on display. Keep your eyeballs peeled🧅!

Overall, my Comic Con Cape Town experience, THIS YEAR, was a little disappointing.
While the vibes were great, I thought that key elements of the event were lacking, specifically the gaming area. Not many games were on offer. Parts of the hall were awfully quiet and awkward, and many group-focused activations took up a lot of space, forcing people to wait in really long lines for a bit of fun.

But outside of this, we enjoyed ourselves. There were a number of Halaal food trucks, and the CTICC has its own Salah room, too! So it made our whole day very comfortable.
We enjoyed seeing all the cosplayers in their outfits, and the various panel talks allowed us to ‘choose’ our entertainment for each day.
I bought myself a beautiful Genshin Impact keychain and some other little bits and bobs, too.
Morning TV for the first time!
This week, I had the absolute honour of sitting on the couch on the Expresso show on S3! I’ve literally grown up watching this morning show, and it was such a full circle moment for me. I was joined with a talented panel discussing the National Budget 3.0 here in South Africa.

Finance is not a topic I am an expert in, but I offered some social commentary and personal experiences. It was a truly great start to my week. Here’s to many more TV moments, In Shaa Allah! 🙏
The Good Life Show 🌿
I am going to be covering the sustainable lifestyles and healthy living expo at the end of this month. I was so thrilled when the team reached out to have me on their promoter’s network this year because Hubby and I had such a blast last year!
Learning, tasting, experiencing, and making friends is what this expo is all about.
Tickets are still available, and you can save even more when you use the code GIRLONTHEBUS10 at the checkout. Get them here.

My birthday month
I will be celebrating my birthday really soon! Even at my big age (lol), I still get excited and giddy around my bday 🎂🥳. I am so grateful and happy for another year around the sun 🌞. Alhamdulillah.
